1. Production Process of Seamless Steel Pipe

Seamless steel pipe is made from solid steel billet without welding. There are two main production methods:

Hot rolled seamless pipe: Processed under high temperature, with large diameter and thick wall. It has high strength and good toughness, suitable for fluid transportation and structural projects.

Cold drawn / cold rolled seamless pipe: Processed at normal temperature, with high precision, smooth surface and uniform thickness. It is often used in precision machinery, instruments and thin wall pipelines.

2. Main Material Types

Carbon steel seamless pipe: The most commonly used material with high cost performance. Grades: 20#, 45#, Q355B, ASTM A106 Gr.B, API 5L. Used for general fluid and structure.

Alloy steel seamless pipe: Added alloy elements, with high temperature resistance and high pressure resistance. Grades: 15CrMo, 12Cr1MoV, P91. Used for boilers and power station pipelines.

Stainless steel seamless pipe: Strong corrosion resistance, hygienic and durable. Grades: 304, 316L, 2205. Used in food, medicine and chemical industry.

3. International Executive Standards

ASTM A53, ASTM A106 (American standard)

API 5L (oil and gas pipeline)

EN 10216 (European standard)

GB/T 8163, GB/T 3087 (Chinese standard)
